5 creative ways to take the ideas in your head from imaginary to I.R.L.

When was the last time you thought about what you want from life?

And not just 'I quite fancy a McDonalds' - because that's just obvious... I don't know about you but I could eat a McDonalds at any time of day - morning, noon and night AND 3am

Anyway, I digress!  (food has a habit of making me distracted!)

So this is your warning that we're going to get deep for a minute or two

Do you ever sit at your desk and think 'there's got to be more to life than this' or you're stuck in the office thinking 'what if...?'

I have SO many ideas floating around my head 24/7!

Where should we go on holiday this year?

What do I want to achieve before the end of the day/week/month/year?

Can I find the time to start a creative project?

How can I make more dollar dollar bills to give my cat a better life?

How am I going to adapt my style for the next season?

What can I do to improve my health and fitness?

Maybe I should do some meditation when I have a spare 5 minutes...

Can I eat my packed lunch for breakfast?  (#jokingnotjoking)

I used to struggle with how to get those ideas from inside my head & into the world!

So I've created 5 top tips to show you how you can do exactly that - taking your incredible ideas from imaginary to I.R.L.!

1. Write down 100 things you want

I recently did a manifestation course with Sarah Akwisombe and it was SO good - I highly recommend that you sign up to the next one - find out more here!

We are told from a young age that it is naughty to say 'I want' but WHY?

I really do want a car that doesn't rattle when I drive!

*makes a note to call the mechanic*

Your first task is to be OK with saying that you want things.  You're an adult now and it's not naughty- its okay I promise!  If anyone says otherwise then send them my way for a good talking to!

It can be anything but you have to really and truly want it; it can't be what you think you should want!

Here are a few of mine as an example:

  • 1. I want to go to yoga 3 times a week

  • 2. I want to go to Amsterdam

  • 3. I want to be interviewed on a podcast

  • 4. I want to buy fresh flowers for the house every week

  • 5. I want to attend 3 networking events in 2018

Try and be as specific as possible so that you can tick them off as you go along and be smug AF!

Have a mix of small, achievable things and also BIG things that will push you a little bit further!

And if you need a special place to keep your 'want list' then check out some super sexy notepads here!  It is a good idea to start journalling around these ideas to get as many ideas out there as possible!

2. Work with Crystals

To say crystals are having a moment is an understatement!

I am relatively new to the world of crystals but I am already a convert.  Not only do they look beautiful but I really do believe they work.

A great person to follow is The Crystal Muse!  She is great at expanding peoples's awareness around crystals and how they can bring all sorts of opportunities into your life!

I'd love to know which ones are your favourite, leave your comments below!

Here are a couple of my faves so far:

1. Rose Quartz - kept in my bedroom

Calms emotions to aid in peaceful sleep and emotional healing

2. Amethyst - kept in the bathroom or bedroom

These are exceptional for providing inner strength and clarity of mind

3. Citrine - kept by my desk

Citrine is a stone of self-confidence and being all that you can be and beyond - it is perfect for keeping you aware of new opportunities happening around you

4. Aventurine - kept in my purse

Green Aventurine is the good luck shamrock-like stone of the gemstone kingdom.

It is used with the intention of believing in good fortune

So get your 100 want list and sit with your crystals and pick which one you think would support your ideas the most. Spend some time thinking about each 'want' individually without any other distractions and be open to the thoughts that will come to you.

  • how can I bring this idea to life?

  • who can I speak to to ensure this happens?

  • how can I prioritise my time to focus on this?

  • do I need to find some money to support this?

  • does this have a deadline I need to work to?

3. Find your tribe

You need to surround yourself with people who believe in you, for those times when you lose belief in yourself!

Whether it is friends, family or just connections you have made online- hold them close!

Now I'm not a fan of Facebook but it really is worth getting on there to be a part of some groups!

I would say my favourite ones are below!

Together Further

The Rollercoaster of Running an Indie Business

One Girl Band

The Collective

The Coven

These groups are full of women who are so kind and helpful!

If you need a photographer, copywriter, PR guru to bring your idea to light then join these groups asap and get chatting!

Or perhaps you might need to ask for some advice?  Are you at a cross roads and want to understand how to move forward?

I really hope to see you in there and start asking the questions that will help you get your ideas out into the open!

4. Make a Vision Board

If you have a creative mind like me then pictures speak louder than words.

I have a million to do lists for all the tiny things in life but the big things?  It is difficult to know how to write them down or express yourself in words so a vision board is perfect.

It will help you gain focus on what you want in your life and the results are amazing!

Since January my vision board has helped me achieve so many things like :

  • building up my mailing list

  • finding the time to book a spa day (or two!)

  • growing the confidence to get a business coach

  • opening my eyes to new income streams

I'll also be posting some videos and blog posts on how you can make your won vision board over the next few weeks on Insta Stories so keep a look out!

5. Repeat Affirmations

So up until now, you have a list of everything you want, you have spent some time manifesting those things with crystals (and made your house look great at the same time) you have tapped into some amazing girl gangs and you have all your wants on a board in picture form- GREAT!

Now it is time for affirmations- it's not my favourite word because I think it sounds a bit cheesy or American but hear me out!

Have you ever taken a 'sick day' because you can't be bothered to go in to work?  Of course you have...!

But then something weird happens, you ACTUALLY feel sick!

Weird right?  Wrong!

Your body feels sick because you are telling it to feel that way!

We basically need to flip reverse that feeling and tell yourself how bloody brilliant you are and I promise you it works!

Affirmations do indeed strengthen us by helping us believe in the potential of an action we desire to manifest. When we verbally affirm our dreams and ambitions, we are instantly empowered with a deep sense of reassurance that our wishful words will become reality.
— Dr Carmenn Harra

Let's take one thing from the list such as 'I want to do yoga 3 times a week'

I could say 'oh I'm so tired, I don't have time, i have so much work on' or I could say 'I deserve to go, I want to go and I will go'

Which one of these messages will help me achieve my desire to go to yoga 3 times a week?

Keep telling yourself these positive messages and your body will respond in ways you didn't know possible!

Some of my favourite affirmations are:

  • i live my life on my own terms

  • my mind is focused and clear

  • i choose to surround myself with positive people

And off you go!

Let me know how you get on with these tips or if you would like to speak to me about your ideas - get in touch.

I would be absolutely delighted to hear from you!

Lots of love as always,
