the fashion brand clinic podcast - episode 120 - sourcing sustainably in the uk with danielle @ hissyfit clothing

Danielle is the founder and designer at Hissyfit Clothing !

🌼 From starting in her nanas spare room, to now owning a bingo hall that will house her manufacturing, fulfilment, and marketing all in one place!

🌼All her fabric is deadstock/ rejected fabric from other big retailers

🌼Some fabrics have been traced back … one customer’s nan had a Bonmarché top in the exact same print as one of the best selling hankie tops!

🌼Bill the manufacturer used to make clothes for the likes of New Look and Ann Summers in the 90s and has been a sustainable king from the start and has NEVER thrown anything away … Danielle often goes hunting through the warehouse to dig out old deadstock pieces that he’s kept that have now came back into fashion!

🌼Her rise to TikTok fame during lockdown doing ‘a day in the life of’ videos and her popular ’20 ways to style’

🌼Danielle loves to design things that are multiple ways to wear them i.e reversible skirts

🌼Her price points are always affordable where nothing is above £50

🌼She never set up Hissyfit to be ‘sustainable’ Hissyfit is sustainable by accident -  all of her sustainable practices were because she hates waste and so does Bill and they both believe with working with what you’ve got
